Artist L. Amarsanaa has opened his fifth solo exhibition, titled “FIFTY.” The exhibition features around 150 works, including 50 watercolor paintings, 50 pieces created using line-drawing techniques, and another 50 works encompassing calligraphy and mixed media.
Amarsanaa studied from 1994 to 1999 under Professor Ya. Oyunchimeg, a State Honored Artist of Mongolia, where he received professional training in line drawing. His mentor, Oyunchimeg, is widely recognized as a master of Mongolian line art and watercolor, known for nurturing numerous students and contributing works to the national art collection.
A key highlight of the exhibition is its comprehensive scope, presenting a curated selection of works spanning nearly 30 years—from the artist’s student years to the present. It also showcases a wide range of line-art techniques and processes, bringing together diverse forms such as metal engraving, woodcut, linocut, monotype, ink drawing, and calligraphy.
In his work, Amarsanaa reflects the artistic methods, compositional approaches, and visual language inherited from his teacher, while continuing to develop his own style. He aims to promote the value and professional significance of line art to younger generations and students.
The artist has also participated in exhibitions and cultural events in more than 20 countries, contributing to the international promotion of Mongolian fine arts.
