The Asian Boxing Championships for adults continued on its 10th day at ASA Arena, with women’s finals taking place across 10 weight categories.
The first final was held in the 48 kg division, where Mongolia’s sports master E. Nomuundari faced India’s Meenakshi Meenakshi. The bout ended with a unanimous decision in favor of the Indian boxer, making Nomuundari the silver medalist. It marks an impressive result as she competed in the Asian Championships for the first time.
Nomuundari, 19, is a second-year student at Mon Altius University and is the youngest boxer competing in the tournament. She previously won a silver medal at the 2024 Asian Youth Boxing Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan, and a bronze medal at an international tournament in Almaty.
So far, Mongolia has secured one silver and three bronze medals in the tournament. The championships will conclude tomorrow with the men’s finals in 10 weight categories. Mongolia’s international master Kh. Bilguunsaikhan will compete in the 55 kg division.
