Ms. Beate Dastel, newly appointed as UNICEF Representative to Mongolia, presented her Letter of Credence to H.E. Mr. L. Munkhtushig, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, Ms. Dastel reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening and expanding cooperation between UNICEF and the Government of Mongolia, with a particular focus on advancing and safeguarding the rights and well-being of children. She emphasized UNICEF’s continued dedication to providing comprehensive support to national efforts in this area.
With 23 years of experience in international development, Ms.Dastel has served with UNICEF in Kosovo, Burundi, Bhutan, Lao PDR, and Djibouti. Throughout her career, she has held a range of positions from specialist to Deputy Representative and Representative, bringing extensive leadership and field experience to her new role in Mongolia.
