The national carrier of Mongolia, MIAT Mongolian Airlines, has inaugurated a new non-stop route between Singapore and Ulaanbaatar, marking a significant step in Mongolia’s effort to expand international connectivity and attract more tourists.

The twice-weekly service, launched on November 4, 2025, operates from Changi Airport’s Terminal 4 to Chinggis Khaan International Airport in the Mongolian capital. The route initially uses a Boeing 737-8 MAX and will transition to a Boeing 767-300ER wide-body aircraft in December. The flight takes about seven and a half hours, eliminating stopovers in Beijing, Hong Kong, or Seoul. Singapore passport holders can travel to Mongolia visa-free for 30 days, offering greater convenience for business and leisure travelers.

Mongolia’s participation in the World Travel Market 2025 in London earlier this month under its “Go Mongolia” brand aligns closely with this new route, highlighting the country’s efforts to strengthen its tourism image and regional air links. The direct flight is expected to boost tourist arrivals from Southeast Asia and foster new business and logistics connections between the two nations.

Round-trip fares start from S$845 in economy class and S$2,945 in business class for December 2025 departures, reflecting MIAT’s confidence in the route’s long-term potential.
