The International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists will be observed this year under the theme “Protect Women Journalists from Gender-Based Violence in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” In connection with the occasion, the Globe International Center released the results of its 2025 survey on journalists’ safety, which covered 387 journalists across Mongolia.

According to the findings, 14 percent of respondents reported experiencing threats such as phone tapping, unauthorized recording, intimidation through email or messaging platforms, and cyberattacks. Another 12 percent said their personal online spaces had been invaded or they were subjected to digital surveillance.

When asked about the most pressing safety concern in the media sector, 67 percent of participants cited information security as the top issue.
