The Governments of Mongolia and Germany are holding intergovernmental talks on development cooperation in Ulaanbaatar, to assess ongoing projects and define new priorities.
At a preparatory meeting on Monday, senior officials discussed policy coordination, private sector growth, investment promotion, and public–private partnerships.
Germany remains one of Mongolia’s key European development partners, supporting sustainable growth through concessional loans, technical aid, and grants. In 2023, Germany committed EUR 78 million in assistance and converted EUR 29 million of debt into healthcare grants under the Debt2Health initiative.
The biennial negotiations are co-chaired by Batkhuu Idesh, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Development, and Yiannis Neophytou from Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
